Data / Bandwidth Transfer

This article contains valuable information on transferring data via your website. Read this article and be sure you will be aware of any overages.

Data transfer is the total amount of information downloaded from your web site. Whenever a visitor comes to your site, our web servers send data to your visitor's computer. This data may include web pages, images, videos, sound files, software programs, or compressed files - anything on your site that can be viewed or downloaded. The more visitors you have, and the more media intensive your web site is, the more data transfer you'll use.

You currently have unlimited data transfer for all of your images and web page content, For audio and video files (when media hosting is enabled), your service includes 10GB of data transfer plus $1 for any additional GB's.

For example, if you are playing a video on your homepage that is 2MB, you would be able to play that video 5,162 times before incurring more charges. Every $1 of extra bandwidth you pay for will allow you 500+ more downloads. For reference in calculating your own bandwidth requirements:

1 KB = 1024 Bytes

1 MB = 1024 KB (or 1,048,576)

1 GB = 1024 MB (or 1,073,741,824)
